What a strange turn of events. A man had appeared from seemingly no where and had basically ordered the guards to let him in. Normally he would be unphased at the turn of events, but something this man had said did not sit well with him. He called him an "armed traveler". He had gone to the trouble of wrapping his saber up and keeping his crossbow out of sight only to be found out in an instant by this man. True it was though that he had not been trying hard to conceal his weapons. But he was not here to assassinate the lord of the city, if he was he would have spoke only enough to the guards to get in, he would not have bothered with hastily crafting a profession and name.
Either way, he was being given entrance to the city, with an escort as well. Not as if he needed it however. He rode alongside the guards to the palace and dismounted at the steps that led up to the main building. Now he moved on foot with his escort up to the palace.
It was here at a great door he was relieved of his escort. He gave a slight bow to the palace guards and stated his case, "My name is Chen Qiubing, and I've to have an audience with your master. Will you take me to him, or am I allowed to proceed onward?"

Maximus looked at Mei Lin and then turned to Imasu. He looked his completely masked, black clad friend and bodyguard and seemed to speak to him only with his eyes.
He then turned back to Mei Lin, and spoke
" I have held enormous power in my past and have not abused it. I am rather confident I will not be corrupted by such things. The lands shall be taken from the fat rulers and put back into the hands of the people, we will give them back what was always theirs.
I have fought samurai, a vicious ruling class that exectuted people for the smallest of things, even noticing a flea on a samurais back would be worth executing someone over.
In the end, there is no absolute way for you to know. You must simply judge me by my character. Look around you, I have taken a small city ruled by thugs and turned it into the center of a war machine about to conquer northern China and soon, beyond.
Only a short while ago this place was a bunch of highway men and bandits, now I have raised a military force of 65,000 soldiers strong backed by the finest generals in all of China."
Maximus then paused.
--Scene Switch--
The Guard looked at Chen Quibing and nodded.
"I will escort you, the palace is in chaos right now as we are preparing for battle, you will never find my masters war room by yourself'
The guard then turned as the other guards moved aside. These were elite guards, clad in dark blue cloth from head to toe, very well trained and highly unusual to see them this far north.
They had a strange symbol on their backs, a circle with two lines inside of it. The guard led Chen Quibing through a mass of people moving in and out, soldiers and lutienants and captains all rattling about. Masses of scrolls and messengers were moving in and out constantly.
Through this chaos the guard led him down a hallway and finally to the open red doors. A woman was standing by the door as the sunlight came down onto her hair through the back windows. Elite guards were heavily concentrated along the edges of this room and security looked tight.
Maximus and Imasu turned their heads and noted the visitor.
Maximus noted the person and seemed puzzled somehow. As if he thought he should know him but did not.
The Guard bowed and spoke
"Presenting Chen Quibing"
Maximus replied
"Hello, I do not believe we have met before, I am Maximus"

Standing there she watched as he responded he took a pause before he spoke which to her meant he thought about what he said. At least he did not seem offended after all that was one of the things she was trying to avoid. Her deminor to most though and her all together attitude spoke of her being sarcastic and all around someone who will make a comment at the drop of a hat. That was just how she liked it though, mot people were use to the shy little woman who would stand back and let the guys deal with everything either that or the girl who acted only pure of heart. Lien did not consider herself a bad person but she was hardly innocent, she had never done anything horrible it was just that she knew everyone was corrupt.
Hearing his speech something about it spoke of familiarity...this was just about how every ruler started out at least to her with all the right intentions. Letting out a breath she laced her fingers behind her back and thought about it all at least for the moment, she was not all that sure about choosing to stay here. Mei Lien bowed a bit again and smirking "well what you have said I will take into consideration but I'm not going to make such a rash decision" she said as she turned around. There was someone else entering and so she decided that it would be best for her to exit at least for the moment, dodging them she made her way out. With that she made her way to where ever she seemingly headed off to, only time would tell.

He was led to a room through a myriad of corridors and bodies. They ran frantically about, shouting orders, relaying information. The guard wasn't kidding, this place was in chaos. After a short time he was before the leader of this host. A man who called himself Maximus. A rather strange name, and an even stranger man. He was most obviously foreign. Everything about him, from his hair, to his eyes, and even the manner in which he spoke was different. He could tell this Maximus was not a native speaker of his own language, and it bore through in his demeanor. He looked at the man, his face mimicking the puzzlement that Maximus showed.
What did he have in store for the Middle Kingdom? He had heard some talk before being presented to the man about giving the land back to the people. He dismissed this as the same generic nonsense every warlord spoke of before embarking on a quest to conquer the lands and its peoples.
He bowed his head and introduced himself, "I am Chen Qiubing of Xiang Yang. I have heard an upstart, if you don't my calling you such, had taken residence here in Xiang Ping. I've come to investigate if the rumors surrounding you were true."

Maximus leaned in a little closer and looked at the man more intensely. He kept thinking over about this man, there was something about him, something not quite right. He dressed as a commoner, but the way he walked... was that of a man of great power. He knew this man was no average rebel.
He seemed to hold little fear of anything or anyone while also being respectful and courteous.
"Well I have indeed started a rebellion against Wei in Xiang Ping.
In fact we move against Bei Ping tommorrow. We are making the final preparations for the assault this evening.
Have you come to join us?"
Maximus then looked even more intently on the mans face, studying him intensively.

He heard Maximus' response and laughed. He actually laughed. It was not because the response was humorous, no quite the opposite. A rebellion was a serious matter, the lives of countless people, both living and yet unborn hanged in the balance. What he found funny, was that a man in his position was so forth coming. Truly, that was something to be respected, if a little misguided. Perhaps he felt as if there was no threat in being such.
"You must forgive my outburst. I just find your, shall we call it, honesty? To be quite refreshing."
He would have asked Maximus if he tried to drum up support in such a manner by asking everyone who came to visit if they were going to join him, but he figured now was not the time to get too comfortable talking to this man. He knew he'd be able to kill him should the man take offense to it and desire his blood, but he didn't know if he'd be able to slay the general's entire personal guard.
"I may enlist in your service, I may not. I have but one question to ask you before I make my decision. What, in your opinion, brings men to slay their brothers?"

Maximus moved away for a moment, his eyes went down as he moved deep into thought. He thought about first, who are brothers and then he thought, all men are brothers really. Then what has caused such mass slaughters, such senseless killing. It was not just hatred, nor blind rage, it was something more.
It was first and foremost the lack of empathy. Someone who truly empathizes with someone, has a tremendously difficult time killing them. Second is that they believe killing their brother will accomplish something important. Third and perhaps most essential, was the beliefs and reality around their brothers.
This was all hazy but things started to piece together. Killing was never actually senseless, there was always a purpose behind it, even those which seem the most unthinkable.
Maximus then spoke
"Brothers kill brothers because they stopped believing they are brothers.
They change in the mind from brothers to enemies. It is easy to kill an enemy. Even easier is when you believe your enemy is the source of some tremendous evil, then you are performing divine justice.
It is not a man killing his brother, for he cannot do that, it is like killing himself. Instead he changes his brother to his enemy and makes himself righteous in senseless killing."
Maximus then shifted and moved into thinking many things about China and their brothers.

He listened to Maximus' reply. It was true that men had to stop believing they were connected in order to kill. But there were deeper motives still to the current madness. Ambition is what drove men of power to possess more than they should, and desperation was what compelled men to fight for them. He would not say this to Maximus just yet, but Maximus' answer was satisfactory.
"An interesting prospect. Most interesting. I suppose it is true that a man must stop believing that his fellows are there to support him in order to kill."
He paused, he wanted to say more, but it was not yet time to bestow that realization upon anyone. If he did, he would surely be thought insane, for the implications of having such knowledge and trying to correct the root of the problems were far reaching, and would require much bloodshed. Much more than any 'sane' man would deem necessary. Still though, this man was honest, and he could be used to help further Jishang's goals.
"I will enlist with you. I lend m,y expertise to your banner," he said, pulling the cloth from his saber, revealing the blade.

OOC: permission from maximus to rp him.
Xum, enters the palace at a run, she found Maximus in the throne room. she handed him the letter. She watch his higness almost lose blood in his face, but he seemed somewhat happy as well.
BX entered the room, "Your going home aren't you Maximus." Maximus nodded and said, "I must the emperor commands it." BX just nodded, but Maximus, "But what of you BX." BX sighed, "I suppose I'll escort you to your home land and then who knows maybe head down to the islands for awhile."
BX and Maximus as well as their subordinates. "And what of our subordinates?" Maximus kept walking, "They will forgive me in time."
With that the igamura army dissappeared not with blood but with silence.
OOC: Maximus is leaving, he doesn't have the free time to properly play and I don't have the time to lead the igamura so undecided for awhile whether I'm staying.

Kuai entered the palace, his weapons on show. He approached the main hall and upon entry announced
"I am Huang Kuai, leader of the Screaming Skulls and representative of the Catan people. I have come to deliver you from this torment and claim leadership of these lands. All who wish to follow can do and all who wish to leave may do so"
Kuai waited for a response
(Short but to the point, a position was offered to lead here in Maxiumus's stead. If anyone disagrees then say so (in RP). Lets make this fun, who knows. You may lead instead of me)
