Jiang Dong, since there isn't a regional map not entirely sure where that area is. I'm guessing its in the area where WU was, but hoping its up north. I got a whole slew of questions really.
1. I'm assuming if I put archers on boats they will be able to fire off the boats?
2. Will there range be hindered because they are on the boats?
3. Will I be able to make land fall anywhere from coast to river banks?
4. Will the large boats be able to travel across Ocean to say attack a enemy city that isn't adjacent not next to the city or send reinforcements to a city if the route it travels is friendly owned?
5. Could we say have enough boats to rp a blockade if we wanted?
This isn't regarding boats, but archers.
Will there be say archer range bonuses say from mountain tops or city walls?

Jiang Dong is the region controlled by Sun Ce during the Three Kingdoms Period. It's capital is Jian Ye and the other cities of Jiang Dong would be Wu, Shou Chun and Jian An.
Now for the questions.
1: Yes archers can fire off of boats, but remember that the smaller boats will not be as good as large boats for firing, this is because the smaller boats would be less stable on the waters.
2: Range isn't hindered because of the boat itself, however, sea archery isn't as good as land archery for the simple fact that you'll be able to get shot as you shoot. On land you can get on higher ground for range bonuses.
3: Yeah, so long as there is land you can stop your boats and get off, if this isn't what you meant then could you please re-phrase your question.
4: Boats can travel down the river ways mentioned on the map to attack a city that might not be connected to them, you may also travel on the eastern ocean, or south to the secluded island of Yu Lin. You may only attack a city that a river is linked too via the map.
5: Yes you may set up blockades if you ave enough boats.
As for archers, they are played historically - so the difference between crossbowmen and bowmen are vast. With bowmen, if you get on higher ground then yeah you'll gain a large height advantage/range advantage, same applies to city walls. Crossbowmen get this bonus, but it's not as good for obvious reasons.
