I too would like to see us come together on something. I do not necessarily think that rotk is dead, but then I too have rped in different places and around different concepts before, but I would rather keep in touch with and continue to write out future endeavors with the crew here.
If Jen and Steve come back, I will be glad to stay on and play my role here. If ultimately we decide to change things, I will go with the change; I know that this group is capable of great things and I cannot wait to see where we choose to go in the future.

Adam and Lyle should shut the hell up about this community. If anything, you two are the worse 'quitters' i have seen over the years. Also, Lyle, how dare you say this community is a 'dead horse'? Just because you suck does not mean the rest do. If you meant RTK and not this community.... well, you still suck. It is just sites in general that do not last. Look at other sites, they have almost all fallen. Sure, there are always those die hard fans of a site who stick around but the majority usually get bored and move on. That is why i made sites the way i did. I knew that the 'newness factor' or 'attention span factor' allowed for 1 to 2 months of solid RPing. Hell, that is when i usually had enough myself. However, that is why you start off with something engaging for the players to get them into it at the peak of interest. Then, of course you leave the next part to them so there is that feel of freedom, not tied down by story type things. As i have said though, the players never attack one another which leads up to a quicker next story battle and by that time many people have left or it puts too much on the staff to keep holding them. The point is there is like a fun period at the beginning when everything is new to people. After awhile it wears off and they move on or stay. So, do i think the RTK scene is dead? No. Do i think that this community is a lost cause? No. Do i think there is a handful of losers amongst us who bring the group down? Yes. Do i think that other sites can work? Sure. Do i think i should shut up now? Yes. One more thing, though. Even if it is Fantasy, Harry Potter, RTK, etc. there has to be something that involves the players. You can not just create a forum for people to RP with themselves. If there was a way you could force people together to RP, then maybe they could mingle more. Usually though, it is people who know each other that RP together and others are left out. I personally like battle or some sort of warfare, but that is me. The people that do not like that just prefer to RP with others or what not, but even that grows old. The shelf life of online RPs is not long, in my opinion, so you need to squeeze as much fun out of it as long as it lasts. Not saying that i am making another site, it takes a lot of time, but is it not at least cool to have 1 site per year that you can look back on and say; damn thems were good times with people i have known for years? That one more thing turned into even more nonsense, i know.

Sites can run for years; if you know how to run them, and they have a subject that can continue on for a year. Unfortunately the Three Kingdoms era type of RPing does not go well with long-term RP's or activity; we hit a point where everyone thought they were hot shit, and had to have a site. There were times when there was a new site that popped up every week. Every, god, damned, week. This burnt most of us out, including myself (The ever resolute defender of this community against assholes and rage-quitters). I took a break, and had fun on other sites, but the draw of a 3k site pulled me back in. I would totally be up for another 3k rp. I'm on another site, but its invite only, and frankly, I know most of you won't dig it. I might invite a few, but not to sound likea dick... its just not meant for people who RP on this community its long-term, slow paced, and epicly sized. We should make another Darkness Falls though. That'd be sick. I <3 fantasy armies.

I used to quit Dark, I was really up for rping recently in this community so it sucks a bit that you still class me as a quitter, if I was I'd have deleted this account like I used to and be gone by now.
I am with Justin 3k pulls me in, but I kinda know its only gonna be short term. Can't beat a nice slow paced but active site.
Pm me if anyone would like to be involved with a resident evil site, I don't really want staff, but more so want to know who would like to rp on it, I'm considering it to be invite only as well. just so pricks like Cbox guy doesn't decide to troll.
DF was cool, though I know there is another fantasy site in the works, dunno how long it'll take to make tho

Buncha losers. I'm aweay for a week and you make the site fall apart. I thought we had something going on, but if the two main admins disappear, there's no chance of surviving off course. Ah well, back to my other hobbys i guess.

Well, to those of you who were interested in another DF site, I must say you're probably out of luck. Ryan, Sr, and myself have tried at the very least 3 times to ressurrect it. However, we encounter a few problems.
1) DF1 worked because Ryan threw it together almost over-night and we (the staff) pretty much solely played on that one site. In terms of running a site, I think it's ridiculous to try and be active on multiples. I'm personally not fond of members being on multiple sites, but that's not a fair expectation.
2) DF2 failed epicly because we tried to change the concept that made DF1 succeed. DF2 took 10x times as much planning to create and 10x as much to maintain. None of us had the time to dedicate (Plus the main admin's just up and left it to Sr. and myself, who had NO desire to main admin.. Sound familiar?)
This doesn't mean that I'm not interested - quite the opposite. Of all the sites I've been on, DF was the most enjoyable. I just don't see the amount of interest required to make a new one. My advice is, if you'd like another DF, show Ryan you're interested. He knows I'm game whenever he is.

If anyone is actually planning to make another military based site, I would be happy to help. I am all for the ROTK scene and I refuse to come out of retirement to see people saying it is dead.

Yo im IronFist/Amza, i havent played this sim or much sim like this. But i was interested what was being said here.
Im not much fan of old school RTK sim(Hu Lao gate scenario/Rise of Heroes or 3k era) they all seem kinda of generic and you run out stuff to RP about. But even i had a RTK, soldier based rp site(Which Kayjn remembers, if he is here), Bleach & Suikoden RPG atm and even a DBZ sim. So yeah i had my fair share of good times and dry times, and i like to throw sum suggestion around and hopefully it might help someone in future in designin a sim.
The one that is constantly in my head is a unique system that i have not seen be done yet. If it is, well individual/RP oriented sim. Then there is no formal staff team, beside the big boss who set the sim up. But the community will help each other rp to get things movin, using random made up NPC. So for an example 'Barry Blotter goes in search of a hidden relic, first he looks at the dungeon.' any other player in the community would reply to him in an ordinary fashion... You might fink theres no structure to it, but lets call this an arc. The arc would be discussed how things would be done, not to the detail but an overall goal. i.e. He finds it in headmaster room by the phoenix. How they get their is solely upto the community rp they do to the player...
I would suggest something like this players should have multiple character, 2 or 3 in different enviroment. Like one in USA and one in Japan. So their is no link, and the story could be different depending on the players. But something like that need to have an overall background story to set things in motion and to allow players to have something to rp about or have a goal.
This idea need somewhat a small but tightly knitted community to works at the best, well as a beta stage of the idea.
Okay i expect some flames and bullet get shot on me, but jus try to share my ideas to other ppl attemptin in new sims.
As for Liu Bei and other people, i would defo help out on the resident evil sim. I been in plenty, but i remember the 1st one i been in was really successful until the admin dropped out. It had incredibly a unique system.
