Zhao Yun noticed the bright spot on his armor, so he shifted his position to not blind the man. As he did so, he probably gave the man a brief view of Liu Bei, standing with Fei and Yu. Zhao Yun looked back at Liu Bie, and said, "Well... Lord Liu Bei was in the middle of something, but I'm sure you could wait inside until he's fininished?"
It was mor of a statement directed towards the man, but a question towards Liu Bei. This man sure knew when to pick a shitty timing... right in the middle of the war plans. But no matter; by the looks of this man, and the way he composed himself... from Zhao Yun's experience, the only people that came to speak with him were peasants (which this man was obviously not, and ones who wanted to join him as a commander.
And those stupid little girls on the carts selling cookies. Zhao Yun hated them. He always felt obligated to buy from them.

The glimpse he got of the king was not enough to make much of an observation other than that they were busy. Judging by the atmosphere and the tall mans attire, it was probably about war. "If you're busy, I could return at a later time. I understand the importance of secrecy when it comes to a lord and his men." His voice betrayed just a hint of disappointment. Here he was, wanting to join the military unit, and he had to wait for said unit to complete its business! Irony is cruel at times...

Yunchang stood at attention, awaiting the vital news from his lord when not only Zilong entered, but so did Yide. He was glad to see both men here, three of the mythic Five Tiger Generals gathered here in one spot. It both infuriated and saddened him to know that Mengqi would not be joining them, nor would Hansheng. He had not seen Ma Chao since the scum that spoke of virtue did an about face on his values and defected to Zen. And Huang Zhong had not been seen in quite some time, he hoped that Hansheng was still alive.
Then, Xuande said they'd be attacking Xu Chang, Wei's capitol of old. Ts'ao Ts'ao's capitol. Was this some sign? A chance to redeem himself for having let Ts'ao Ts'ao run at Hua Rong? He had to believe so, his heart fluttered, if for a brief moment, but his face did not betray this to the others gathered in the hall.
He was about to ask to be dismissed when a knocking came on the chamber door. He turned to face it not out of disrespect to his lord, but rather of a natural-born curiosity. Who could possibly be coming to join them at this late hour? Before he himself could react further, Zilong had already excused himself to answer the door. He liked the man, but sometimes he left of an aura of being a glorified errand boy for Xuande. There were guards for this shit, after all.
He turned back to Zhang Fei and spoke in a whisper, "Hmm, it would seem little brother Zilong prefers to be a butler rather than a general, don't you think, Yide?"
He was making harmless fun of their mutual friend's recent actions, and wished to gauge Yide's mood by it. He looked hungover, no doubt spending a late night up pounding the wine bottles.

Zhang Fei listened to his wise lord with a completely open mind, honestly it would not have bothered him whatever course of action was demanded to be taken by Brother Liu and when he spoke of allying with Wu to attack Xu Chang, Fei couldn’t refrain from smiling. The other generals in the hall seemed to share his feelings on the situation also, both Zilong and Yunchang vocally showing their happiness with the decision.
Fei kept to himself however, the night prior was pretty rough and he sure as hell was feeling it, though managing to maintain his concentration for the important war council, then a loud knock on the door came, raised in volume by the echo that accompanied it, an echo that brought every man’s attentions towards it. ’Who is this clown at the door?! We’re busy here…’ Though he thought it, Yide did not wish to speak as he would probably come across the wrong way, a common occurrence for the brawny man.
It was typical that it would be Zhao Yun who went to open the door; the man’s actions never surprised Fei. He always seemed to do the small things for brother Bei, things that Fei and Yu would leave to those of lower rank and position. It wasn’t clear whether it was a sign of equality or just Zilong fishing for a bit more of Xuande’s appreciation. Either way, it bothered Yide not.
Guan Yu whispered to him something that brought a broad smile quickly to his face; he had obviously been thinking the same as him when also finding curiosity in Zhao Yun’s personal involvement in such a meager task. Zhang Fei chuckled before replying to his brother.
”Haha... Mmm, indeed. He seems so enthusiastic to please that I’m surprised brother Bei isn’t wielding a whip!”
The banter within the halls of Shu were always light hearted, something that Zhang Fei enjoyed a great deal. Curiosity remained however as Fei never did manage to catch a glimpse or catch the name of the newcomer.

Bei was pleased with the raucous approval, and yet a tad saddened that no one offered a differing view point.
That was, until the newcomer arrived.
Bei never turned down an audience, from not the lowliest pauper asking for a few gold to buy food, to the richest noble coming to pledge his allegiance or try to bust some balls. Bei motioned for the man to be let in, allowing him to come forwards.
As the man walked forwards, hopefully smart enough to not come nearly as close as Fei and Yu were, Bei engaged the man in the first test of anyone wanting to see him.[/i]
"What brings you before me, Lord Xuande, Uncle of the rightful Imperial Heir?"

Zhao Yun heard the witty comments made by his allies, and walked back with a small amile on his face. He enjoyed having people around that he could joke with. Being the White Rider was enjoyable... but Liu Bei, Guan Yu, anf Zhang Fei were, in all honesty, his best friends.
"I'm all warmed up now. Wei won't stand a chance." Zhao yun whispered to Zhang Fei and Guan Yu before the man in the blue robes approached Liu Bei.

Yao walked forward, stopping approximately 5ft. away form the king. He kneeled in the manner taught by his father, dropping to a knee, fist on the ground, head down. "Lord Xuande, Emperor of the Shu Empire, My men and I have traveled here to become part of your mighty army." He awaited the Emperor's response.

Liu Bei smiled. The man seemed loyal, at least enough to think he could come that close to the Lord of Shu without being killed. Bei motioned for the generals nearby to stand down. Bei stood, and walked down the stairs. He held a sword in one hand, unsheathed.
"Do you fear, or trust me?"
Hopefully his guards an the generals nearby would be prepared to kill this man should he attempt to leap, but Bei's sword could be used both as a tactical tool of fear, and defense.

Still bowing, he raised his head. Seeing the sword brought a small trace of fear, but his face remained calm, his voice tranquil. "Had I feared you my lord, I would not come to your domain unarmed." He looked into Liu's eyes. Trying to see if his life would soon be ended or not.

Bei's eyebrow piqued at the admittance of the man's lack of weaponry. Bei smiled broadly, motioning to a few guards nearby.
"Fine then. You will be put to death. You are obviously an assassin, sent here by my enemies to the north."
The men fell upon Xiang Yao, in droves, more than he could ever try to fight off. With him now surrounded, Bei only laughed.
"I am joking my friend. Welcome to Shu. You might want to find yourself a weapon, however... we are on the warpath."

Yao had a look of obvious shock on his face as the guards surrounded him. He didnt even have a chance to get into a fighting stance. When the king's words registered, relief spread over his face in the form of a smile.
"My weapons and armor are in a nearby stable with my stallion." He said after a few moments. "What is my first assignment?" He asked, moving through the ring of guards to better face the Emperor.

Bei was a gentle soul. But the man took a little too much for granted; he was accepted, but he was not a trusted general. Pushing through the ring of guards was a bad mark on his report, and Bei would remember it.
"Bring your army, and we will go to Xu Chang. I will give you a few men, and we shall fight Wei there."

"As you wish my lord." He bowed once more. He felt as though he had made an error, but he didnt realize where it was. Hopefully it was nothing to bad... He thought to himself. He turned and walked out of the palace, about to gather his men for war.
Back at the camp, he was once more dressed in his armor, staff strapped to the side of his horse, swords on his hip, bow and arrow on his back. He looked at his troops. "To day, we march to Xu Chang under the banner of Shu!" He shouted. "Today, may we prove our new lord our value, and show our enemies that we are a force to be reckoned with!" His men shouted in reply, and they gathered supplies and set march for Xu Chang.
